Hey everyone, so for the Google camera apps when you taking a picture, do you usually leave a flash on automatic setting or on always setting? I have known as in them settings or sometimes even at night time before you tap the screen wants to manually focus the flash doesn't go off. Has anyone else experienced this before?

If you are using the HDR+ mode, the flash will be disabled. Personally, I avoid using the flash on any phone whenever possible

Interesting because when I disable the flash the camera takes less good quality photos. That's why I'm asking.

If you're taking photos in low-light conditions, then yes - but that could be said of lots of cameras.
Like for example I just feel that in the settings or even at night time in complete darkness the flash doesn't always activate on the camera when you want it to.

That should not happen. (Unless you've manually turned the flash off)
What is your flash set to? Auto/On/Off? In darkness, flash should fire in Auto/On mode (not in Off mode of course). Remember that HDR+ will disable the flash.

Yes I realize that HDR two disables the Flash. No I don't have it activated all the time. I can find that sometimes when I go to take a picture night time the Flash's an automatically take on anything automatic setting. I get it to work by tapping the focus point once then hitting the shutter button.

Some of the shots posted in the Nexus 6 picture forum are incredible.
This HDR+ picture is amazing considering it was taken closer to pitch black than twilight.
Made me a believer.

Yeah I mean don't get me wrong most of my pictures come out great as well I just sometimes at night time.

Ha, of course. Many of my pictures just plain old stink.
I blame the lighting but it's mostly me, not the hardware.
