Google camera

Google has been updating Camera every day for almost a week. Every time, it stops Google Assistant from executing TAKE A PICTURE. It opens the camera but won't snap the photo. I have to CLEAR THE CACHE, DISABLE AND STOP. It then continues to work. It also somehow removes the camera icon from the screen. What's going on?
Is this happening to anyone else?

That's the same date of my update but I have received 4 of them. All seemed to update OK, but they each created the same problem.

Have you tried rebooting your device or a factory reset? Also I am running beta software of that helps.

I've rebooted, but I don't have the beta of android Q. I won't go to Q until the real version comes out.
