Google chrome - can't uninstall?

So having some battery issues so figured removing unused unwanted apps before doing a reset would be a good idea...

From the app page... when you press and hold on an app... the removable ones show an X to click in to remove... but not for Google chrome.

And when I updated to jb I had to manually download chrome from the app store...

Anyone else notice this?

Have you tried booting into recovery and just formatting the cache first?

That might clear up your battery issue.

Chrome is a system app in the official JB update. My guess is that what you thought was a manual download was in fact an update of the system app to the latest version.

If you're unrooted, all you can do is disable it. First, though, you need to uninstall all updates. Go to Settings/Apps/All, tap Chrome, and tap Uninstall Updates. Once they're uninstalled and you're back to the original Chrome version, then you can disable it.

Wait, what do you mean when you say, "No good"? Are you saying that you don't get the option to uninstall updates or disable Chrome?
