Google Chrome search results, pics not loading

I have a Galaxy s20+ on Verizon

For the last few weeks the initial images (side scroller) on Google image results don't load. I can click them and they then load, but then those related images don't load. Images on the actual Google image search works.

it happens on wifi and cellular data

i have cleared all cache items from within the browser

I have rebooted the phone several times.

Not happening in FF or Samsung browser.

I have cleared the app data in the settings -> app manager.

Lite Mode is set to off.

If Chrome was preinstalled on the phone, try uninstalling all updates to Chrome and see if the problem persists.
