so i have a nexus 6p and wife a 5x. my wife added both her work and personal gmail accounts, and consequently both accounts synced their contacts to the phone. she doesn't want to have her work contacts. it seems that clicking the button for sync off on contacts under the work account does not remove the previously synced contacts from the phone.

anyone have any idea how to achieve this?

Probably the best way to do this is to remove the account, then re-add the account and make sure that the option to sync contacts is unchecked.

I've had to do this before with an account.

I'm not sure it will actually remove them from her phone, but open the Contacts app, tap the three-dot menu at top right, tap Contacts to display, and go from there.

I tried this, but she likes to use the phone app to view her contacts, and of course that option isn't available there.
