Google Docs?

I'll likely be buying a Tegra 2 based Honeycomb Tablet, likely the Xoom or Toshiba's version when it comes out, but there's one thing that I haven;t found too much info about.

Will I be able to do office kind of stuff on it, mainly word processor, spread sheet and presentation stuff? It wouldn't need to bee too fancy, just being able to edit Google Docs would be great - though being able to use OpenOffice would be ideal.

If I can do this then justifying the $800 price tag is much easier. If I can't I'll still probably get one, but be a lot less happy about the price.

I am sure you'll be able to find some apps for Office docs that work well with Honeycomb. 1 already announced is "QuickOffice". There is a tablet version demo'd here. I am sure there will be more to follow.

I agree, Quick Office... however Google should definitely make software for phones and tablets for Google Docs, and they should implement Google Cloud Print in more applications such as Gmail. Then it would be a perfect office device.

Google Docs is a web app, so as long as you have a browser and and internet connection you should be able to use it just fine. With Android 2.2 and higher you can edit your document on the phone.

What would be great is if you can work with Google Docs offline and then it will upload to the cloud when you return online.

A lot of people have been calling for a Google Docs app as well, but thus far Google hasn't delivered on that. Not so sure if that's really necessary, anyway. At least for me.

I can view the docs on my Xoom, but am not able to edit them.
Does this have anything to do with the lack of Flash player or am I doing something wrong?
How can I view AND EDIT Google docs on my Motorola Xoom?

I'm right there with you...looking to pick up a G-Slate when it comes out and use that when I'm at school with a BT keyboard instead of bringing in my laptop everyday for notes. Making sure I can find a compatible app with Honeycomb that will allow me to do that (and possibly print) is important. I know Printershare has been working well on the Galaxy tab, but I'm not sure what to expect with Honeycomb compatibility.

I am able to edit both spreadsheets and documents with GDocs (from WildArt), but since Documents to Go has been updated, and seems to work on the Xoom, I've preferred using it (got used to it on my Droid X over many months of use, so I'm probably biased).
