Google drive

I downloaded it and signed up but it said Google drive wasn't ready yet and I would get an email when it was.

Im staying with Dropbox atm. Google is no longer the "Do no evil" company they once were, and Id just as soon distance myself and my privacy as much as possible

They never really have been.
But, at least they are more upfront about what they do.

BOX.COM has **50** gigs free to LG users till 12/31/2012...meaning the offer is good till then, your 50gb space is for life!

so far that kicks the ass of any of the cloud storage places out there. but there are minor drawbacks, it doesnt stream alot of file formats, mostly good for storage i would say.

Just thought i would let my fellow LG users know! I did it and i have 50 gigs of space now.

Last time I used box it had a low Max upload size. I haven't used it since. Is it still 50mb?

There's a 100 mb upload limit for box.

A couple other limitations for the free account are no batch downloading and the preview function is disabled; so, files need to be downloaded to be viewed.

Still, 50gb is pretty nice.

I'd rather have google mining my data than any other company. The data is just used to personalize advertising anyways. Other companies with less profit and market share than google have more motivation to sell your data to the highest bidder, for who knows what purpose.

Plus, googles stands against fascist internet censoring in China and statements against the protect IP bill in the US make me feel that they have the best interests of their users at heart. Although the government may force them to hand over some information, they certainly must subvert them to a degree internally. This liberal-leaning Google probably wont last after the founding members leave the company.

Is there a code to use to get the free 50? I only see 5 on the website

pssst. you know google makes your phone os right?...for all we know they may already be doing this with some hidden backdoor. then they could have endless amounts of data and deny ever collecting it in the first place by blaming a "rouge engineer". :p

but like that would ever happen...:-!

So, I just signed up and it automatically gave me the 50 GB account.

On top of that there is currently a LIMITED TIME OFFER! from them to give your cow-orkers :p a free 50 GB account too.

However the offer is based on sending e-mails to other recipients that use the same e-mail domain as you. The e-mail address I used is hosted on my brother's domain so I signed him up and he is going to create an e-mail account for a friend of ours who may benefit from this as well.

What they allow you to do is change your e-mail address and send out e-mails using that domain. Since, presumably, everyone here has a gmail address you could send the offer out to other folks that also have gmail.
