I'm surprise no one has posted on the Google event and the stuff they demoed using the Xoom. I'm totally convinced I'll get it now. I watched slashgears demo of it and was very impressed. It looks just as smooth as the Ipad and, more in some cases.

Th only thing that wasn't as smooth was the auto-rotation, which had a slight delay. It seemed to delay the most on the e-reader but, I tried it on my Ipad and it had a long delay also after not using it for a while. I never paid that much attention to it until comparing it with the Xoom.

That's not that big of a deal to me and, everything else the tablet does out-weighs that.

I agree with you 100%. I was very pleased with the state of Honeycomb and the Xoom. I will now definitely be buying it. I am already trying to think of all the different ways I can use it.

Thanks for the hint about the slashgear demo videos. After watching that google event in full, I'm sold on the way ahead of google. The new market place is amazing. I'm working in a place where I can't bring my phone, so I have 2 apps waiting for me installed on my phone when I get back to it. The google event was great, one of the first webcast events that I was dissappointed when it was over.

The online market is awesome. It wasn't working yesterday but, they fixed it. Google is really stepping up their game.

I went to Best buy yesterday and, in tablet area, they had a blank space were a tablet should be, that said "coming soon" I'm hoping that's the Xoom.

Its definitely going to be the hottest tab out there.... just wish they would release it already...and a wifi version :p at the same time.

No doubt, they keep trickling out information and having events, but still no firm release date. I bet this Sunday will even come and go, with plenty of Xoom publicity, but still no release date. I honestly don't care if they come out and say February 28th, and I still have to wait another 25 days. At least I'll know when it's coming.

Honestly, anyone in sales and even the average consumer can tell you that they want to know two things: price and availability. That's it.

You certainly can hype a device too much, before it becomes an annoyance and your consumers become impatient. However, I do understand that the average consumer doesn't even know the Xoom exists yet, but many more will know over the next 96 hours.

While I'm not 100% sure I'll get a Honeycomb tablet, iPad 2/iOS 5 will have to seriously bring their A game if they want to even be considered. Same goes for Palm/HP.

I agree about the Ipad. It's a nice device and the Ipad 2 , no doubt; will be nice and improved but, the thing about Android for me is, the customization. It's just so personel and, you can configure it just how you like. You don't have to have rows of icons of every app but, the ones you choose; while still having access to all the others.
