Have any of you P2XL owners received one of the new Google Feature Drops yet? We should be receiving a drop that enables the Portrait mode effect, even if we didn't use Portrait mode when taking the picture. Just curious.

I just noticed, while browsing in my Google Photos app, that the option to "Blur background" pops up occasionally, as I look at some of my people pictures. So far, the "Blur background" isn't listed as an option in the Editing menu.

That's only in portrait mode?

Supposedly, we have a new feature, to give existing photos (which were not taken in Portrait mode) the blurred background effect as if taken in Portrait mode. Google's Artificial Intelligence must be scanning existing photos, and offering the option, as you look at your photos.

I didn't pay attention , I will check it out later

This is how it looks in my app.

I did some poking around in the app and found your screen too. But, depending on the picture, sometimes blur is the choice and sometimes it's "pop." Interesting, but another new feature. That's good.

You're right. For me, when the blur option is present, "pop" ends up in the "light" menu.

You made me look! Since I only have a couple selfies, I only noticed the Blur option offered, and it saves it as a copy for you. I'll have to go back through my photos and see if I get the other options on some of my other pictures. Fun!
