I just updated the Google app yesterday. Ever since, I don't see any text in the cards for the Google Feed. It shows headers and pictures, but that is it. Anyone else having this issue?

I think this is a beta release, I must've signed up for the beta program for the Google App when I got the phone. Didn't remember this til I looked up the update on the Play Store :D

Screenshot included. Today I have rebooted twice (once to install the May update.) Problem persists.

The one thing I've noticed is that most everyone who's seen this is on the dark theme. I ran into this myself and had a thought... I toggled back to the white theme by using a light wallpaper... The next card that showed up was correctly rendered... Eventually they all corrected themselves.

They'll get it ironed out soon enough. I'll switch back to a dark at some point.

Thanks for the tip.
That did the trick!

I'm having the same issue after the Google app update yesterday.
What version of the Google app are you using? I'm on 8.1.12.21.arm64 (this is on the Android P Beta) with a dark wallpaper and haven't seen that behavior.

Thanks Leo! You were right, i changed to a light background. Old stories still didn't have text but new stories did. Weird.

Yep, that's how mine went... Old stuff stayed blank for a bit. Weird. But there's a lot of undercooked ingredients in the ol' stew here, so it happens.

My Version is 8.3.7.21.arm64

That's the beta version of the Google app. That's why you have issues. I assume you have reported the issues to Google via the feedback feature? After all, as a beta tester, that's what you're expected to do. If you don't want to deal with the bugs inherent to beta software, go back to the production version.

I don't understand why you are taking the tone you are taking with this response to me. Where in this thread do you see me complaining?

I was trying to find out if anyone else has come across this. As it turns out, others have and someone knew of a temporary fix that didn't involve rolling back the software.

Not that it is any of your business, but yes I did report the issue through their feedback prompt.

But thank you for informing me on what being a beta tester means.

You read the wrong tone, I think... Keep in mind that replies are often directed at the whole conversation, not just the replied comment. It was just a reminder that you need to roll with the punches when you are running beta stuff...

Half of mine went back to normal whenbi switched to a light colored background but when I switched back to dark, they slowly reverted to blank text boxes. I reported it too. really annoying!
