Google Hangouts permission to record microphone

I made a mistake today, I received my first call on my Nexus 6P via Google Hangouts and got hit with a few security questions. In my rush to try and answer the call I said no to don't allow the microphone to record the call which I misunderstood. Now I can't figure out how to allow Hangouts to have permission to use the microphone. I clicked the box to never ask the question again.

Settings > Apps > Hangouts > Permissions. Adjust as desired. This works for ALL apps, though if they were not designed for Marshmallow you will get a warning that some features of the app may not work and to proceed with caution.

Welcome to Android Central! The message asking you for permission should have an option to grant those permissions (or at least bring you to the permissions menu).
