Opened it up and it was a Pixel 2. Contacted Google and they told me that I could just keep it and it could be activated just fine! Wow!

I had a similar experience only with the free Google Mini.
FedEx lost it and Google expressed shipped me a replacement.

Companies like Google are actually pretty good at doing things like this if you put in a little time to make contact and be pleasant. Amazon for instance has made so many things right for me, and all it takes is usually a phone call.

As for services like trade-ins, I can see how that process is just...different, and does make it tough on the reps to make you happy when things like that are truly out of their control. More times then not, they will usually make it right in the end.

I received a new unit. I'm not sure that you always get one or if there a criteria or timeframe for receiving new.

My apologies if I'm missing something. So you ordered a phone from Google that never arrived, and they sent you a replacement? Isn't that what should be expected?

The original didn't arrive on time so they sent a new device. Original finally showed up and google said to just keep the original as well.
