Google maps, bluetooth and sound

I have my G3 paired to my car over bluetooth, when I use Google maps, it tries to send the directions over bluetooth to the car, but as I am not in media/bluetooth mode, these cannot be heard

Is there anyway of changing it to use the PC speaker, without having to disable the bluetooth. In the Waze application, there is an option to "output to phone speaker" but cannot find any option like that in Google maps
