Google Maps Navigation Tip: ETA, Time & Distance to Destination

I never saw this prior to the July 11, 2013, update, but the navigation feature of Google Maps displays not only the remaining distance to your destination, but also the time remaining or your ETA (at least for navigation by car). All you have to do is tap the distance remaining (displayed below the map, bottom center of the screen) to cycle through them, portrait or landscape. I've missed having this.

I find it soooo annoying that you have to tap to cycle through all 3 info. There's more than enough space on most phones to display all 3 bits of info and it's a lot safer than getting the user to tap to cycle. If the phone is a really small phone then that's fine to cycle through but if it's a large screen phone (like the Nexus 4) then why not display all of it or at least give a user setting as to what to display.
