Android Central Question
When roaming, more often than not Google Maps does not work, i.e. it does not update the maps and tells me there is no internet available. Interestingly, internet ís available, and all other apps using internet do work fine. The only app that does not work is Google Maps, and apps that make use of Google Maps (such as Flightradar24). All settings and permissions for internet access are open, even more for Google Maps than for other apps, but yet it does not work most of the time.
Sometimes it does work, and it seems to be related to the roaming provider. Assuming that the error message ("no internet") is correct, is it known whether many roaming providers block Google Maps for some reason? Or is it another issue? (APN?)
Without roaming Google Maps works fine on the phone network. Google Maps always works when there is WIFI, so the issue is related to roaming.
