Google maps :(

So I am new to the smartphones, came from an envy, with vz nav. Well the nav is not available on the eris, so I thought cool google maps. Well used it today and very dissapointed. Nav was so much better. Google was showing me in the river coming home, and made me make a huge circle and still didnt drop me at my destination. Even when you update trip, it does nothing except give you your orginal directions. Am I doing somthing wrong? or does it just suck? Will nav be available with 2.0 or just the google voice maps? Also can trapster be run ontop of directions? I do a alot of traveleing for work so was really hoping this was gonna work very well.

Ok, This is the 3rd time I have tried to post this reply, some reason my reply keeps getting eaten.

Do you have your GPS enabled? My phone is pretty poor at figuring out where I am from just my cell signal.

To turn on GPS
Go to settings --> Location --> Enable GPS Satelite

You can also put a GPS toggle on your home screen
Plus sign --> HTC Wigget --> Settings --> GPS

Yeah I had it all enabled. I am hoping that I am doing somthing wrong, because I really wanna like this app
