Anyone read about Google losing the Nortel Patents? Basically RIM, Apple and Microsoft teamed up, bid together so that Google lost the bids on the patents.

Why is this important? Well Apple has mostly pursued just a few key Android rivals, but Microsoft has attempting to shake down every Android device designer, albeit cutting deals for those that also use Windows Phone.

Basically these patents would have given Android some leverage against lawsuits of patent infringement by the douches at Microsoft and Apple.

Hopefully the DoJ intervenes or else this may the be beginning of the end for our beloved Android

Apple owns half of the DOJ it seems, why else is the FTC "investigating" Twitter for supposed anti-trust violations? Apple should be investigated instead. As for the rest of the group they just agreed to it because they couldn't get the patents on their own. Hopefully Google will find a way to protect the mobile platform we all love.

Do you really think Microsoft didnt have the cash to buy the patents? Come on now.....

Hell Bill Gates could buy those patents by himself for the lulz. I mean Microsoft blew 8.5 billion on Skype which has been steadily getting worse.
