I just noticed the color on my Google messages are now light blue. Is anyone else seeing this? They were green this morning.

thanks for the responses. I wish they would just go back to being blue. lol

Mine are now light blue (instead of green) and gray for SMS/MMS. That mirrors how Google messages looks on another phone I have.

just wish it was darker

Me, too.

I'm completely color blind, so I can't even tell the difference between the light green and light blue. However, they also made the font dark on the blue? It was white on the green. I think I'm remembering that correctly. For me, this makes it much easier to read.

I'd like to know if I should use Google Messages or Samsung Messages. Pros and Cons. Can I still use the Call and Text feature on my tablet when I have Google Messages?

Mine have changed also- noticed the other day. There is a variety of colors! Greens, pinks, blues, burgundy--- it's my text that has this color change. I played around with wallpaper and the matching color palettes and it changes to those hues (green, blue, etc). Just wish i could assign text color! Seems when i text an iPhone my text is pink. Android - burgundy (with one of the palettes). I am not in Beta.

Very interesting. The only theme options I have on beta are light or dark. My text is always white on my sent messages and black on received messages when on light theme. On dark theme all text is white. Incoming message bubbles are always blue now when the compose box says "Chat message". And bubbles are always green when compose box says "Text message".

I'm talking about wallpaper change - long press on home screen, choose your wallpaper, and then there are suggested palatte's you can choose from. There's a standard default, then about 4 other options to choose from. Try it out :-)

My phone just got another update to Messages after I installed the System Update that came for Verizon phones this morning. There are no changes in settings options. The only change I notice is that now:
If I am in a "Chat" conversation the bubbles are now dark blue for me and light blue for the other person.
If I am in a "Text" conversation, the bubbles are now light blue for me and gray for the other person.

If you have the adaptive colors on, the Messages beta app will now match the rest of the adaptive colors on your phone. Previously it would not. Mine turned green to match everything else.

What do you mean by "adaptive colors"? I don't see anything called that in any of my settings? Thanks in advance if you could point to where I can check that.

It's in here. Sorry. Not called that on Samsung. I had a Pixel 6 Pro before this. It's part of Android 12.
