Google Messages Quirks

So if it was on just my phone I'd think it's a phone issue but it's on both my wife's 10+ and mine, that being said anybody have issues with notifications being inaccurate? It will show I have 3 new messages when I only have one. It counts back all new messages received since I sent a reply, even after I've read them in the app and not just a quick reply. Very weird.

No haven't had that issue, I forget what carrier you on ? Try clearing cache and force stop it .

Verizon. The weird thing is that it's doing it on both our phones.

Yeah , might be glitch ...try also clearing cache in recovery

Switched mine to Textra last night and it stops. So it was definitely limited to the Google app.
