google messenger notifications

So I recently updated my phone to a galaxy s7 edge. I factory reset my Urbane and set it back up and paired it with my new phone. I also setup AT&T numbersync. Now I am not receiving my Google messenger sms text messages on my Urbane.

Any ideas as to why I'm not receiving these anymore?

I have the same issue after i did a reset to fix a problem with the heart rate constantly checking. Weird..

Thanks, I'm going to try a factory reset. Also, I enabled ATT messages backup to see if that somehow works with numbersync to send the sms messages to the watch.

IIRC, last time I tried NumberSync (which I quickly disabled), you will not receive SMS notifications from phone. Instead, the watch will receive all your SMS (including all the backups in the AT&T cloud) to your phone number via NumberSync to the watch. Open the Messenger app should show the messages (but it takes a while for all the messages synced to the watch). Make sure your watch cell radio is enabled and has reception. You are not going to get SMS via any other way. Again. IIRC.

Also, NumberSync aside, there are plenty of reports here that sometimes you need clear play services cache (or do a reset) on the phone to allow successful SMS notification from phone to watch.

Thanks Foxbat. After a few tries and resets I was able to get the sms notifications on the watch again. I had to first enable the samsung sms client then enable att message backup. Then I switched back to Google messenger for my sms client. That seemed to do it as all the other settings you mentioned were already enabled or at least I think they were.

Works now so all good. For the moment. Thank you.
