Sorry, I am new here but wanted to share as I see many issues including mine about the Google microphone losing the beep tone.
I had S7 and managed to get it back ten minutes after tweeting Google. I tried all of your recommendations to no avail.
I just bought the S8
yesterday and MIC has gone so I followed assessibility in settings and turned on Lookout and it works
