Google Nexus 6 What are your expectations for battery life?

Re: What are your expectations for battery life?

Galaxy Note 4 has the same mAh battery, so maybe something close to it.
  • 4h 26m of screen on time ~ 21% left (Source: Android Authority)
  • 5h 15m of screen on time ~ 27% left (Source: Pocketnow)

Without the heavy touchwiz skin and the Android L optimizations I'm estimating the Nexus 6 will give 5 to 6 hours of screen on time.

Android l previews were getting around 30% better battery life over kitkat.... So it should last all day with 6+ hrs screen time .... Depending on useage

30% is a stretch, It won't be that much, I wouldn't believe the hype. Expect 10-15%, but you also have the new battery saver mode.

I think it will be better than the G3 and worse than the OnePlus.

Possibly 3 - 3.5 hours screen on time for heavy users and 4 hours for most users, for users who spent more time managing the phone like me probably 5.
There is still a way to go for battery tech, it's not going to be giant leap out of no where.

To last longer than the Nexus 5... :p

It should last longer than my Note 2 which lasts me through the entire day...

Re: What are your expectations for battery life?

I can make it through a day just fine with my current phone (which I believe has a 2600 mAH battery), so I'm not too worried. I do wonder how they come up with these measurements, though. On the Nexus 6 page listing, they estimate 9.5-10 hours of Internet use, but what does that take into account? I try to optimize my phone for battery life as best I can, but if I'm browsing the Internet hardcore, my battery is almost dead after 3-ish hours. I can't imagine being able to actually keep the screen on, browsing for 9+ hours without needing to plug in to stop the battery from dying halfway through.

I think that test is that you unplug it and set it right next to the router and load web pages until it dies, never doing anything else.

Re: What are your expectations for battery life?

I'm hoping for at least 6 hours screen on time. I have a Z2 that gets anywhere between 6-7 hours... I suppose we'll see.
