Just got my nexus 7 the other day and i must say it is awesome. Especially in terms of music. I put my music on the other day and started listening. I was blown away. I plugged the same headset into my ipod touch 5g and put it on the same EQ (rock) and listened to the same song. The ipod sounded like it was dampened, it was also quieter, plus the bass and background instruments sounded way better on the N7. Never listening to music on my ipod again :-)

I have both devices myself and I like them both equally. The N7 does play music really well, but I still primarily use my IPT 5 as my primary music player.

In fairness to the iPod touch, it offers a much more stable version of the excellent BBE enhanced 'sonicmax pro' in the app store. Used to be on all Cowon players giving them an excellent sound rating from music lovers. I'm using the app with a pair of UE900's and UE triple-fi IEMs on a 5th gen touch and it turns a mediocre sounding player into something actually pretty good. Too bad the sonicmax pro version in android is so unstable, but in my opinion, it's definitely worth it for the iPod touch.
