Hi I am new to Android and was wondering if there are any headphones with three buttons controls on them that will work with nexus 7 and nexus 5. I got the nexus 7 and want to replace my iPhone with nexus 5 but was wondering if I can get headphones with that functionality. I am looking for string headphones preferably.

I have the Sony MDR-10RBT wireless, after using these for a week I would not go back to wired again, the have all the functions you requested, and they are so good I am selling my v-moda LP2's they are that good, the Sony's you can answer calls, turn volume up and dowm , skip tracks backwards/forwards and a charge lasts 17 hours and the sound and feel are the best I've tried p, super lightweight the list goes on and on.

There's a good chance that the same headphones will work on the Nexus 7 (2nd gen) as work on your iPhone, including the inline controls. (In-line controls do not work on the 1st gen Nexus 7, as it does not support headphone input through the 3.5mm jack, which is how the in-line remotes function.)

Are you sure? I thought the reason none of the wired headphones with volume controls worked was because they are wired different and Apple has a patent on it.

I'm not sure - I don't have any apple headphones to personally try, and the information online is conflicting. (example) If someone has apple headphones w/controls already, there's no reason not to try it before buying a new set.

I have the iPhone 4 headphones as well as cheap Chinese copies of the iPhone 5 headphones. I tried them both on my N7-2013. Pause/Play worked but the volume controls did not work on both. Does anyone know if there is anything that can be done to allow the volume controls to work?

I am on my 2nd Nexus 7 2013 and my iPhone ear bud Male connector doesn't seem to go all the in and so its hanging up just a hair and like people can't hear me talk. I'm Sim free unlocked on Verizon's 4G LTE and speaker mode on Skype is deal good.
