Google Now/Car Blutooth

In my car and using the Moto X Pure, pressing and holding the bluetooth button prompts Google Now to make the notification tone, and it comes through the car speakers and uses the car microphone.

When using the iPhone, Siri works the same way.

On the Note 5, pressing and holding the bluetooth button starts Google Now, but on the phone and not through the car. So if the phone is in my pocket and I press the button, I can here the sound from the phone and not the car speakers. And it can't hear what I say because it's not using the car's mic.

Anyone else experience this?

Open Google Now, tap Menu>Settings>Voice, and make sure Bluetooth Headset is turned on. Also, tap Hands-free, and make sure Bluetooth devices is switched on.
