On most Android phones you use, you can have multiple home screens and all can be blank. You can have your default screen and then swipe to the right screen and have icons/widgets there. Press Home and it goes back to your default empty home screen.

Why is Google Now not like this? I want me main home screen to be empty but swipe to the right for my dashclock widget/icons. Right now if I remove a widget/icon from my main home screen that screen panel disappears and my screen with my icons/widgets becomes my main. It's pretty dang stupid that Google doesn't allow you to have an empty default home screen while other screens have stuff populated.

Is there any way around this other than keeping an icon or some widget on your main screen?

Nope.

But, you could conceivably create a 1pixel x 1 pixel transparent icon for some useless app. Check out https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...etails?id=calvin.gross.noicons&token=eoL9Rxd2 (I have never used nor tested this app, but just so you see the capability)

Actually, it is not clear if that app works with Google Now. Maybe you can do something with this one? https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ails?id=com.momocode.shortcuts&token=3SA39T0M

Ah yeah I figured as much. The only other way I can think of getting a empty home screen is to remove all my icons/widgets but that defeats the purpose of using widgets.

Thanks for the reply.
