Google Now interfering with Video on Earphones - Nexus 7 2013

Hi,

I don't know if this has been addressed previously.
I generally do not use my Nexus 7 2013 for watching videos. But whenever I have tried to watch with earphones on, Google Now loads. I have tried switching off Google Now, but it always pops up when the video starts or resumes (either from the device's memory or while streaming). I am not able to watch videos as a result

Hope I have been clear with the issue. Can anyone help me out???

Wired or Bluetooth? If Bluetooth, it might think you're activating a voice command via Bluetooth headset.
