Google Now Launcher, what replaced it?

I had google Now on my last phone. It changed the look and positioning of the icons (4 across the bottom).

But the thing I really miss is the google command bar and the ability to say OK Google and make requests.

I have read that Google Feed is the replacement but it doesn't seem to do any of things I just described.

Thoughts?

I use rootless pixel launcher, it's basically the same launcher the pixel uses. You do need to install a separate bridge apk, the link is in the app description, and this gives you the google feed to the left of your home screen.

If the Google command bar is what I think it is it's just a widget and should be on your phone. Ok Google voice activation should also work with the default launcher.

Personally haven't used Googles launcher in 3 plus years so not sure what officially replaced it.

You can say ok Google or hey Google on any Android phone to invoke Google assistant and say commands. Or you can also add one of the Google search widget and tap the voice icon there if you want. Google now launcher was few years back and it was replaced by Pixel launcher once the pixel devices started. There are many variants of Pixel launcher like CPL launcher, rootless pixel launcher, lawn chair and many others. Just Google search for them you will find them.

I don't think they replaced it. It's still available.

Your device is incompatible with this version.

They stopped developing Google launcher long time back once the Pixel devices started and they moved on to Pixel launcher which is Google's main launcher.
So it is. I was on my Tab S2 when pulled it up. It doesn't come up when I search on my Note 10+.

So my ok google commands aren't recognized. Maybe I'll check settings must be disabled?

I'll look for a widget.

Thanks everyone.

I didnt find any settings that would disable voice recognition. Any ideas why ok google isn't working?

So I had the old google now launcher, and I had an automatic update applied, and it was removed. That's when I lost my voice commands.

Goto: Apps>Default apps>Phone assistance app

Make sure Google is selected then tap the gear then tap retrain voice model.

That's what worked for me.

Have you enabled Google assistant on your phone? You need to activate first. Based on your navigation bar set up, long press the home button to invoke Google assistant and say it up or if you are using gestures from the bottom of the screen gesture up and hold (hard to explain for the gestures )
