Google Now page not working

Cannot get anything access the Google Now page by swiping right or holding the home button. The phone freezes and eventually pulls up but cannot access anything and freezes again. I have to turn it off and on to get the phone to work again..

Try going to Settings>Apps, select the Google app, then Storage, then Clear Cache/Clear Data.

Tried wipe cache on phone as well. No luck.. Very weird

Just to be sure -- you cleared the data from the app as well, right?

Yes I cleared data in app. I have done it many times. It's odd that it just freezes no matter what way I try to access Google Now

What happens if you tap the Google app directly in the App Drawer? Same result?

Absolutely same delay freezing of app. I have to find the Lenovo forum to place the issue ticket and see how many others are affected

Have you had any luck fixing the issue? Mine does something similar. Google starts and then freezes for about 2-3 seconds before continuing on.

I can't focus out anything. I put the issue on Motorola board but no replies

I'm having the same issue. It's a shame, because other than that the phone is very snappy.

Yeah, I wish I could turn off the ability to swipe to GN entirely....I can't stand that it's there and non-functional. I may start playing around with Nova Launcher just to get around that, but I'm hoping this is a GN issue, rather than a G5 one, and that an update will take care of it.

With the August update (that gives March date) the Google Assistant and Google Now cards work again.. wanted to let anyone else with the problem know
