This may be pretty simple, but I haven't figured it out so I'll ask. Is there a way to access Google Now while the phone is in stand-by mode (phone on, but screen off)? With my friend's iphone, he can just press and hold the home button while the phone is in stand-by mode and Siri will be activated. For me, I have to press the home or power button, swipe to unlock, press and hold the home button, tap on the Google icon, and then I have access to Google Now. This may be obvious, but am I doing something wrong? Seems like a bunch of steps to get Google Now.

A recommendation from a friend is the best I have so far. I set the QuickButton for Google Now. From sleep mode; I press and release the sleep/power button, then press and hold the QuickButton. That brings up Google Now. Then I say "Google" and I have voice commands.

That does make good use of that button I am going to do the same thing
