Google Now running slowly

Does Google Now run painfully slow for anyone else? Other functions on my Bionic seem to run ok, but if I use the voice search or commands on Google Now, it seems to take a long time.

Do you have a lot of other apps open? I find this makes a big difference.

Google now is essentially useless on my bionic. It takes way longer than 60 seconds to complete simple searches on the Web or within my phone for a contact or something. I enjoy the feature on my nexus 7 but on my phone it is just a nuisance.

Just launched it via long-press on the Search button. It took 9 seconds to load the cards I have it set to.

gwhizkids, sometimes I do, but not usually. It sounds like the rest of you are having the same experience. I guess that makes me feel a little better, and thankful I'm upgrading soon. Have a good day all and thanks for the feedback.

I've been having the same issues for almost two weeks now (maybe three?). I was just chalking it up to server congestion on Google's end.

9 seconds doesn't seem like too long for this phone.

I stopped Google Now, and "VOILA!", the phone started acting normally and battery life improved dramatically, at least as good as ICS. Just my two cents.

If it was only 9 seconds from the start, it wouldn't be an issue. However, Now ran extremely fast when we first got JB on the Bionic. Cards loaded in less than 4 seconds, and search results were about the same as opposed to now when search results (especially when entered via voice search) take close to 10 seconds or more to come back. :(

You are lucky, my searches literally take over a minute. I know because my screen goes black while still searching. It is such a pain because I used voice commands all the time when driving to call contacts or make quick searches on the Internet when I didn't feel like typing.

Having the same issue. I've stopped using it to search altogether. I'm not sure if the following issues are related but my phone will periodically freeze when the screen is off and I have to wait a few minutes to try turning the screen on again. The second issue is watchdog will flag Chrome for high cpu usage in the middle of the night, sometimes 15 times in a night (never during the day).

There is a fix for this. Factory reset then install all your apps again should work. If you boot into safe mode and it works great. This should work. My Google now was taking about 40-60s to load first an answer. Now first answer in 5-8s with not turning any settings off. Boot into safe mode first to see if it runs better. I think it has something to do with when upgraded android. Working great from me now. It not that hard just backup everything then restore everything after factory reset.
