Hopefully this pushes Google just to have there event held at there San Francisco faculty. Why they choose go to any other venue after they started doing Google I/O is beyond me.

No idea why they didn't move it there after this rather than pushing it back is completely stupid. The thing is streamed live so its not like they need every blogger and their mother there telling everybody whats going on like Apple does.

They should of made this move 4 days ago when they saw the path it was taking.

But as a person who lives in SW FL and sees quite a few hurricanes a year, pointless reason to cancel this event imo and it'll likely cause some rain and thats it.

Oh well, gotta wait longer now.

Ya know if you watch the news they are saying it is an unprecedented storm the way it is moving inland and its wind speed and hurricane status doesn't mean much since it's the rain and massive flooding that will do the most damage, especially low-lying inland areas, like last year's hurricane Irene.

Ya know if you go over to wmpoweruser the users there are claiming Sandy is "karma" for Google scheduling a competing event against Microsoft's Windows Phone launch on the 29th. If there really is karma, I do hope certain people development early prostate cancer, the kind that spreads to the balls and requires snipping.

I've pretty much come to terms with the belief that Windows Phone 8 is not going to drive the platform forward in the directions i hoped for, and that means I can wait calmly for Google's announcements, knowing that I'll probably end up with an Android phone, whether Nexus, Note, or Relay (I love keyboards). Meanwhile, i hope this storm mellows out and doesn't wreck lives out East.

my friend who works for google / moto told me that they are having build issues with the nexus 4 and that it was going to be announced but not available for another month. maybe they are buying time and used the hurricane as an excuse?

It's possible....I was actually thinking Google might just be stalling simply because with their resources they could easily move the event had they wanted to. I don't know anything special about the place they were going to hold it. But you would think they would have a place on Google property they could hold these type of events so it doesn't cost them anything to do.

Where in swfl do you live, I'm born in raised in ft Myers/Lehigh area. And of course the only thing a hurricane is good for is no work and a HURRICANE PARTY!!!!! lol please excuse me I just moved from swfl back in may to Tennessee and Kentucky. I'm kinda regretting it I miss lovers key and gulf coast town and sometimes Edison mall lol.

Back on topic anyone heard about any special launches besides nexus stuff that's supposed to be launched on the 29

I find that hard to believe, CPW and other shops would have been notified if that was the case and we wouldn't see them stacking boxes in place of the nexus 4

at the same time, it's a bit late to fix issues with the phone, it should be well past the final stages so if there are issues, they will pass them onto us
