Google Pay issues

Does anyone else use Google Pay with their LGU2?

I did a lot last summer out of convenience because I didn't need to bring my wallet with me when going out for a walk, but lately when I've tried I get nothing. The app loads and my card is selectable, but seemingly no NFC signal is being produced. I thought maybe it was a software issue, but even after factory resets it doesn't seem to work. But then I got wondering if one of the updates since last fall has broken it, and maybe I should roll back to the older Wear OS and try it. And I suppose it could also be a hardware issue, but all the other wireless systems appear to be working.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Just tried this morning in Whole Foods and it worked fine. In the past, it is hit or miss. The NFC antenna is not as sensitive as the phone. So, it takes a few tries to touch the right part on the terminal. That's why I rarely use it.
