Google Phone app: "Activating Visual Voicemail"

How did I not know about this feature?! ... Playing your voicemail, instead of dialing it in with your PIN?

I tried my carrier's (T-M) app, and I hated it.

So I installed Google's Phone app and tried to activate visual voicemail. But it's not working right away.

I went to a local T-M store, and the employees couldn't figure it out.

Can anyone help here?
