Read this article this morning about the official disconnect between Google Photos and Drive in terms of syncing photos. Today's the day!
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I actually welcome the change. As someone who generates papers and reports that have images in them (that I'd then save to Drive), I hated when those images showed up in Google Photos. I also used to organize my photos before Google Photos came out, and saved them in Drive as well. So when I adopted Photos, I had a ton of duplicates.
Now, I have my photos backed up in Photos, and my files and non-image media saved in Drive and have no overlap. Again, this is a specific use case, but I thought I couldn't be the only one happy with this change. Especially since Google's been saying this move is based on user feedback.
Thoughts?
