Google Photos/Picasa Web Albums

I was able to set images from the web albums (through the gallery) as backgrounds just as you would for any other pictures saved on the device with my S3. Now, with the S4 I have to download the image onto my phone first then save it as a background. Is there any way to do this without doing this round-about method? It's simple, just irritating. Any updates that will eventually fix this?
