Google Photos shortcut in camera app broken

Did anyone notice that the nougat update for the S7 broke the google photos shortcut in the camera app feature or am I the only person who uses it?

It seems like whenever you update Android you roll the dice as to what's going to work or not on your phone. I guess that's just part of the Android experience...... Just like the required factory resets to keep the phone working.

Would that be the Android experience or the Samsung experience? I don't have that problem on my Nexus 5x.
