How do I move a auto saved photo from Google photos back into my gallery. I can't seem to find a way inside the app, and it appears the only way to do this is to share to myself and save. Please help!! Thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! Are you talking about a photo you took that was auto-backed up to your Google+ Photos? If you took the photo, it should still be in your internal storage, and therefore should still be visible in any gallery app.
