CNET seems to poo poo it (back handed compliments) but doesn't really state how they got to certain decisions. Says the display is average but no explanation what so ever as to why. Seemed to be Samsung biased.

I am tossing out all references to "cost" (because I can). I am looking at feature functionality and explanation.

I found arstechnica a better read as the plus and negatives had explainations. Better data to chew on.

They are reviewing it like a phone should be a fashion accessory. I want a killer phone. Could not care less about what it looks like.

Thanks! Not sure if i'm going to be able to keep up while working.

Overall reviews are really good. Even the negative ones aren't bad as it really only points out the things that are subjective (i.e. Design) and things we already knew (lack of waterproofing).

Thanks for posting all in one place! I haven't gotten through all of them yet, but the first 2-3 I have read seem to be mixed about the camera. I mean, don't get me wrong, they say its a great camera, but just not the best it's claimed to be. Low light is an issue?

Since something like the camera is subjective its going to be mixed. Some reviewers hesitate to call anything the best, some have said it is the best, and some have said its not, but on par. I haven't read anything that stated there are any glaring issues or drawbacks even with low light.

I think it is showing it is the best IN SOME CASES. It obviously isn't the end-all-be-all compared to the Galaxy S7 which is too bad but it is a VERY good camera. It looks like for my use-case, which is indoors and low-light it is probably the best. Where as the S7 is sharper in high light situations. (Other aspects of the pictures are trade-offs between the cameras) I'm pretty shocked at how much sharper the Samsung is in those good light situations though.

Long story short the phone is awesome, not perfect but is one of the best phones currently available.

Again, it depends on which review you read. Even dxomark stated some/most cases.

What this tells me is that the Pixel camera is as advertised and for me the selling point is the EIS in videos and the unlimited Google Photo storage.

Big props to OP for posting this! I was expecting to have a very tedious afternoon/evening searching for all the different reviews, so much appreciated!

The generally positive reviews are going to make it harder for me to keep convincing myself that I don't want to pay $650+ for a phone!

I am glad to see the positive reviews but will still have to wait months to purchase on my VZW discount, I can't afford the full price of the phone right now... Plus it give me the advantage of reading all the user reviews here and other places once it's in the hands of us, the Android community!

Thanks. Interestingly, the Verge's conclusion was : "In most situations it is better than the iPhone 7, and it even beats out the Galaxy S7 in some others.". Interesting because from the pics they showed, I'm not sure it seemed that way. Some pics I liked the Pixel, others the iPhone and a few GS7E. I'd just have a hard time looking at all those cumulatively and reaching that conclusion - based on those pics ..

Still, and most importantly: All 3 cameras were great honestly, and anyone refusing to get one of these 3 phones based on the cameras might be picking nits at this point.

to me, I look at it more like, you can't go wrong with the pixel camera, it's on par with the best out there. not going to analysis every small details with every pictures. haha. all I do is post on instagram and facebook anyway. haha.
