Hello

I have a question i hope someone can help me out with. I have seen at Argos in the UK the original Pixel XL in white 32 gig version & want to get one which is £299. What i want to know is after updating to Android Pie,how much storage is available after setting up from fresh after updating to Pie?? How much storage does the OS take up?? I really want to get this phone & i don't use a massive amount of apps & just take photos which i then transfer to my PC. I have coped fine with 32 gig on phones before as we all have done. Thanks in advance if anyone can help :)

If only takes up less than 4GB. You should have over 20GB free. it is a brilliant phone and that is a great price.

After upgrading straight out of the box to Pie, completely stock, I believe I had over 23 gigs of available storage on a 32 gig pixel.

Thanks, that's seems alot less than many others I've seen. Like Nokia phones seem to take up 11 gigs for the OS
That's the way the internal storage is partitioned. The OS may not take it all, but since you can't access the partition, the entire amount of the partition is useless to you. (Running du from a terminal app will show you the partitioning of the phone. And it can be changed from one version of Android to the next on the same phone.)
