Google Play Download stops at 100%

My S8 will no longer install apps on it's own.

When I want to download or install an app from the Google Play Store, it will download fine but stay at 100% and never install on it's own. If I open the recent apps menu and clear the play store and open it again, the install will start immediately. But if I am updating multiple apps, I have to do this once for every app.

I've tried clearing the Cache and Data for the Play Store and Play Services as well as disabling the Google app, nothing has worked. I haven't tried a factory reset, but I have heard that that doesn't really work to solve this problem.

Any Ideas?

Welcome to Android Central! Did you also clear the cache/data from the Download Manager app? It's a system app, so you'll have to tap Menu>Show System in the Settings>Apps menu.

I've disabled the Google app, and now my downloads all work just fine. It's a bummer that my Android auto relies on the Google app working... But an insecure phone is more of a risk to me. Go to Settings>Apps> Google App >disable.

I've done the cache partition deletion, cleared cache, reset and reinstalled my Google account on my device, removed play store updates, redownloaded them etc. Idk what's going on but disabling it fixed everything.
I'm using a Samsung s9+ if that helps
