Hello all,

I have read through these post and can not find the exact issue i am experiencing so I have decided to SIGN UP for this forum and begin asking questions and eventually contributing where I can. ANY help is greatly appreciated.

here we go...

I recently signed up for Google Play Music Plus which I thought would be a decent idea. I now find that ( and it could have been happening before) Google Play Music app is running in the background and when I choose to close "all apps" it remains running. The only way I have found to close it is force close, is this bad for the app/phone? In addition when I DO force close, it will randomly appear later. This is happening without headphones connected.

Thank you all again for any help.

Welcome to the forums.
It is because that app is a service, and has to stay running. Android works differently from Windows. Meaning Android likes having RAM full. Play running like that isn't harmful, it is actually good because it won't have to start it up every time you want to launch the app.

I hate to contradict the Ambassador but google play music is an app that does not need to be running unless I guess he needs to have the music service to enjoy his music. In my S5 form TMobile I had turned the app OFF, and although it is true that Android likes having Ram, this app is a big contributor to the drainage of the battery because it insist on being active all the time (I have seen the difference in both phones) and the only way to get rid of it is to uninstall the upgrades and turning off the basic one. I have done this with my Note 3 and now with my S5.
