Google Play Music. Ice and winter deal for current subscribers.

I just don't get it. Don't get me wrong I love Play Music but it seems everytime they offer a promo or free deal it is only for new subscribers. Come on what is wrong with them. People like me who bought the Nexus phone and paid a pretty penny don't get three free months because it is only for new subscribers. Same with the new Chromecast only new subscribers. Also if you look at times Play Music is free for more than one month for new subscribers. I got it free for two months when I signed up last year without buying anything new.

Now the new deal is $1 for three months but of course only for new subscribers. What a joke.

Most are like this though. Most promotions are to draw more "new" users versus old. Spotify does the same thing -- new accounts only. The current guys just keep paying the same rate.

A lot of companies do this.

Why? Because many people like to stay where they are and not try new things.

I understand but what gets me is that you buy a expensive phone and there is a nice card saying free Play Music but then it says in smaller print new subscribes only. They don't have to give current subscribes three months but they at least can give us a free month for buying a Google product. Not like if you buy a Amazon product they don't give you a card saying free Prime for new subscribers only.

Amazon definitely is a different breed when it comes to things like this. They rarely toss in exceptions -- It would be nice if more companies were like this.
