Google play music used 1.3 gb?

Hey guys just downloaded all my songs onto google play music today and streamed like 40 of them and checked usage just in case and it used 1.3 gb. Is that normal cause that seems like a lot

Wouldn't it make more sense if they wernt set to play offline? Because playing online would use data, right? I'm not saying that to be a jackhole I'm just asking because I pretty much know nothing about this app. But I do like it so any help is appreciated.

Well, first, you should take a look at the size of the directory where you store your music on your computer. See how big that is. Maybe its at least this big.

Second, you should use the "Make Available Off line" while you are on WIFI, not cellular. (In fact the default settings won't download the song for "Make Available off line" UNLESS you are on wifi. This almost looks like you let it use cellular to download your collection.

Got it set to play my songs offline now.and all seems good.

Also it was only increasing to such a high level of usage when I wasn't playing offline. So Idk what the heck is up with it.

And I don't want to make them all playable offline be cause then it defeats the purpose of why I have the app, which is to save storage space.

Ok now I'm very confused. When I go to the my at&t app it says I've only used like 430 mb out of the 3gb I have on the plan. Weird.
