Google Play Music Volume Not Maxing Out on Pixel XL

None of my music in Play music will increase in loudness for the last few ticks of the volume. There is no difference in volume between the two screenshots below.



All of my other applications keep getting louder all the way to the max. I have restarted my phone. This has been happening for a few weeks now.

Any ideas? I do have the songs downloaded to my phone, and I'm not streaming them.

That may be due to your headset reaching max volume on its own volume setting before the phone says it's full. I can have varying volumes between my headset and what my phone reads.

When I have my phone connect to the car stereo or a headset with Bluetooth, or even plug in a headset I have to go into Setting, Sounds, Media Volume and set the volume to max. This was the same in my Galaxy S-3 and S-5. I suspect they are trying to protect my ears.
