google play problem

Hello,

Recently my google play app stoped working. when I press it, it loads but 1 sec later its gone and back to the main screen.

I don't want to format the device and on the other hand I understand that the app can't be removed completely (Am I wrong?)

Please help. what can I do without formatting the device?

System.... Apps.... Play.... Clear the cache and force stop the app then restart the phone. That MIGHT take care of the problem.
