Google Play service app

This Google Play services app somehow is on my phone. I have no idea when I got it or that I had it until I went through my app list today.

1. Anybody else have it?

2. Is it useful or can I uninstall it?

I have It as well, but uninstall if you want. It'll come back after some time, lol.

Nope I have it too. I'm pretty sure its just part of a play store update. Might have something to do with them accepting gift cards now.

Just updated to cold as ice's latest version and its there. I don't think it has anything to do with gift cards...

I installed this app because I wanted to. I think its for apps that need to check permission on the Play Store? But did anyone else laugh at the 5 star reviews for it? They're funny and there's like hundreds of them

I'm on Bobz CM9.1, and I don't have this installed. I wonder what initiates the installation?

I uninstalled it and lost email sync. I can't live without sync.
