It appeared to make quite a bit of difference on mine. Normally, standby percentage of use is very small, but, when something goes wrong in Services, the battery will use much more power.
If the battery consumption seems to be unusual, open settings, battery,and battery usage, then click stop on anything that seems to have excessive use.
