Play store not working, Google Chrome not searching and WEB app going nowhere! Tried all the time fixes, emptying caches etc. until Google announce it appeared I was working through a "proxy" - needless to say I was not! However when connecting to your home Wi-Fi and probably others android seems to set the hidden proxy status to "manual". Resolution is to uncheck this and set it to "none". Go to setting > Wi Fi then hold down on your Wi Fi connection until the hidden menu appears. Tap on the proxy setting and switch to "none" exit and save. Immediately resolved all my issues plus that annoying announcement that my Wi-Fi connect was unstable. Good luck - wasted hours on this problem, fixed in 10 seconds. Why so many hidden menus?

I purchased an S4 today and my Play Store just circles and won't open. I can open facebook and other web pages so I know my Wifi is working. I checked the downloads area and there is nothing there to uninstall/reinstall.
I get the grey Play Store header on the top of the screen and the search icon, but that is all.
I can click the search icon and type things (ie shazam), but again it just circles and doesn't result in anything.

Solution... mu play store not working simply i did drag it to the tash and after deleting. System ask if want to change to the factory version and prss yes

My internet is working just fine with every webpage on my browser, but it wouldn't open the play store. It's actually asking me to connect to the internet, even though I already am connected. :S
It's been going on for 3 days and it's starting to get on my nerves... :S

All what you need to do is this ( I strangely bumped into this solution)

1.) Get off your current wifi
2.) Launch the play store and leave it running on connection error( without the internet)
3.) Re-connect to wifi but make sure its another network ( its only temporary to fix it)
4.) Back to the store and press retry !

Fixed.


Incase if this doesent work , clear the data from the app and allow fake positions ( devellopment options)

You need Root in order to fix it. This crap is allways caused due to errors in the wifi .

Anyways , if your phone is rooted. Download Root browser , get into it . There should be this small button on-top with m/s or something like that , toggle it get into a file nammed ect find a file there called Hosts and press for 3 seconds on it an option menu would appear , click on open with text editor.
Gobto the second line and make sure your in the very start of it and tipe # directly near the number ( no space ) save and reboot and it should be fixed , if yu have other loading probs check my other reply.
