This is hilarious because I did the EXACT same thing a little bit ago..

I've been digging around in this phone since buying it at a local T-Mobile store on Black Friday. I've been with Samsung since the Note 3!

I love this phone!

Go to settings then security. In there you can check for security update (monthly patches) and a couple spots below that the play update.

OK, I just checked for an update again because it has been a few weeks since I checked and my P6P was still on Nov. 1 for the Google Play System Update. Now I have the December 1 version after the update. It's weird to me that this 1) doesn't update automatically and 2) is apparently a month behind all the time. Just doesn't make sense to me. A12 bug, maybe?

It must have done it automatically because I'm pretty OCD about checking every day.

Do you have your phone set to automatically get system updates? I forgot that I turned it off because I like to make sure any update isn't more of a problem than my current version, thinking that setting was only for Android system and security updates, not also for the Google Play System Update. Maybe it's for all "system" updates and that's why I had to manually check. If so, I'm fine with that.

Yeah play system updates sometimes don't match OS updates
